A Wintery Visit from Mamaw and Papaw

Mamaw and Papaw came to see Sadie the first part of February. It's easy to say that Sadie is, in general, a pretty social little girl. She generally likes everyone and enjoys being around other people. However, there is something different about grandparents, and Sadie 100% knows who her grandparents are (all 4 of them)! I honestly don't know how, at such a young age, and not really spending that much time with them (like she would if we were in Texas), that she knows there is something really different about Mamaw, Papaw, Grampi, and Grammi, but, believe me, SHE DOES!

As soon as Mamaw and Papaw arrived on that Friday morning, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with Daniel or I anymore. There were several times throughout the weekend where she pushed Daniel or I away, told us "NO", held up her hand for us to leave her alone, or pointed at us to go away....this was HER time with Mamaw and Papaw, and Mommy and Daddy were not going to ruin it! She drug them all over the house the first day, took a nap with them, ate with them, and let them hold her or carry her wherever.

It was a great weekend and a nice visit, especially for Sadie. She just soaked up all the attention like a little sponge.

They arrived just in time on that Friday, because it started snowing shortly after and kept on all day. So after Daniel got home, he and Papaw took Sadie to play in the snow:

We also took advantage of the snow and went to the Children's Museum on Saturday morning. It worked out well, because not many others decided to get out that day, and we had our pick of things to do!

Mamaw paid the nickle for Sadie to ride this horse (of course Daniel and I have never broken down and "ponied up" and let Sadie ride this ;) ):

And Papaw snuck her on to one of the horses on the carousel that go up and down (reserved only for children 3 and up). Thanks Papaw! Now I have to explain every time we get on the carousel that the animals that DON'T go up and down are so much cooler than the ones that do! :)

We also spent alot of time indoors playing.

Sadie and Papaw like to eat cookies together:

I promise my mom was here, but for some reason, we don't have a single picture of her! Sorry Mamaw!!! :( Sadie loves you too! And she loved reading books, doing puzzles, and playing "Ring around the Rosies" with you! Actually my mom took most of these pictures. So that's probably why she's not in them.

Here's a video of Sadie riding the horse at the Children's Museum though, as we took several of those!

Thanks Mamaw and Papaw for visiting! Please come again soon!!!!

We had a great time and can't wait to see you guys again--maybe in Texas? If not, I'm sure I'll be up there before too much time passes. It's so much fun to see Sadie in "her environment." She loved showing off for us and having our undivided attention.
